The Legend
of Blue Sea is a well-known Korean drama. It’s a love story of a human and a
mermaid. It's been an all-time favorite drama for those who love watching Korean dramas.
The
protagonist, Heo Joon Jae is a con man and went for a vacation in Spain for
hiding from people whom he fooled recently.
The mermaid freely
swims around the sea and got a bracelet. Suddenly water rushed heavily and she
landed around his hotel. She was shocked to see her legs. She went to his room
and when he found her he called the police. He took some pictures of her and felt
pity to see her as she didn’t steal anything.
When he saw
her bracelet, he went to the police station and took her. He wanted that
bracelet as it’s an antique piece and costs a high price. He somehow succeeded to take the bracelet but he left her in the mall and left. But
afterward, he felt bad and went to her. Everyone left and she was still waiting
as this world was new for her and even she doesn’t know the language they
speak. She was way far from her home.
She sat
outside the mall in rain and he came to take her to a hotel. She found a laptop fascinating and watches
many Korean movies and learned the language. Heo Joon Jae's enemies attacked
them and she rescued him and they had to jump into the sea. Her reality was
revealed and erased his memory by kissing him. By that time they were very
close and she started liking him.
When came
into his senses, he doesn’t remember about her anything but, was confused and
thought he forgot something. He went back to Seoul. He dreamt about his past in
which the mermaid was also present. The came to Seoul to find him.
She found
him but didn’t say anything about the past. When he saw her, he was getting
some instinct that she knows him because of the bracelet. So, he took her to
his house. He had two roommates. They gave her a name, Shim Cheong. She stayed
there but Heo Joon Jae asked her to leave and gave her cell phone and a
transportation card and promised to meet again when there will be first snow.
When the two of them got to know, they accused him and he went to take her
back. From deep inside, he cares a lot about her but can’t show.
That night
was the first snow, they both went to Namsam for a meeting. After reaching, Shim
Cheong met with an accident. Doctors were shocked to see her alive after a very
low body temperature. They found it weird but could not say anything.
After that, they
started to live together. Everyone found her to be weird but slowly they
started liking her. One of his roommates found her mysteries and one stated
liking her for her stupid acts.
One day she
met a male mermaid. He said many things about living life in this land like
their tears that converts into pearls and acts as money. To make heartbeat
passionately, their lover has to love them as much they love or else heart
becomes hard and they can die. He also helps her to make Heo Joon Jae feel
jealous. Heo Joon Jae always felt jealous whenever she talked about any other
man.
All these
are related to their past life. Heo Joon Jae rescued Shim Cheong multiple times
who was a mermaid. Heo Joon Jae dreamt of his past life and was always curious
about it. There was a man who wanted to capture the mermaid in the past life
but Heo Joon Jae saved her. They tried to kill her but Heo Joon Jae came
forward and the sword penetrates into his body. By seeing this mermaid killed
herself.
The man, Ma
Dae Young was also incarnated and had a dream about his past life. He searched
for Shim Cheong and Heo Joon Jae. He attacked him. The man started to follow
her and investigate her.
Heo Joon Jae
went to a museum and got to know about history. Suddenly he could hear Shim
Cheong’s inner voice and was shocked but she was not aware of it. She got to
know about his lies that he was a con man and he accepted it and told his secret
but when he asked her secret she mumbled inside that said she is a mermaid. By
hearing this h was step aback but he slowly recalled everything and started
protecting Shim Cheong as he knew past will repeat.
She left the
house and met Heo Joon Jae’s stepbrother. He took her a place where she could live.
He found her and wanted to take her back but she denied going with him as she
was thinking he fooled her too and is a con artist.
He went back
and recalled everything that she had erased in Spain. He realized she likes him
a lot and he went back to her stayed with her. He made chaos whenever he saw
water near her.
They went to Namsam and detectives came to take Heo Joon Jae. Shim Cheong was alone and he called her
to go home safely but understood that Ma Dae Young kidnapped her. He wanted to
confirm is his dreams are true about a mermaid or not. Heo Joon Jae told the detective
to find her in Namsan and they rescued her. They went to house and detectives
started to investigate Ma Dae Young. After knowing everything about the past life, he again tried to attack her but she erased his memory and he could not remember anything.
Heo Joon Jae
confessed his love and they lived happily. Shim Cheong was far from water so
her heart started weakening.
Heo Joon Jae’s
stepmother killed his father for the property. Heo Joon Jae and detectives found
the proofs with the help of Shim Cheong and she got arrested. But her son took
her out of the jail and planned to kill Heo Joon Jae and show it as a suicide
for being guilty of killing his father. But police arrived and they arrested
them but he shoots Heo Joon Jae. And at that time Shim Cheong came forward and
was shot.
She was
cured very fast and got discharged but she had pain in her heart. Her heart was
not beating well and she had to go or else she would die. She decided to leave
and chose to erase herself from everyone’s memory.
After
staying in water for 3 years she came back to Seoul. It is shown that Heo
Joon Jae didn’t have any memory about her but earlier he has written everything
about her in his diary. After getting drunk, he cried by saying he misses her. He
doesn’t recall anything but reads his diary and goes near the sea.
She went his
house and met him nut she couldn’t say him anything. He showed her that he has
forgotten everything but he remembers every moment about her. He built a house
near the sea so that he could stay with her peacefully. He became a prosecutor and
went to their new house to live further in their life. They lived happily.
